Spurs fend off hungry Jazz in Game 2, win 127-129.

Leonard was on-point tonight, shooting 10-17 and 7-11 from distance.
The Spurs held off the Jazz in Game 2, boosted by stellar play by Patty Mills (24 points, 8-13 from 3PT territory) and Kawhi Leonard's 28 points. In a surprise spark, Mario Hezonja dropped 22 points off the bench, shooting 6-10 and making four 3PTers for San Antonio, also nabbing two steals.

Pau Gasol had 15 points and 8 rebounds, but Bismack Biyombo had 15 rebounds and 11 points, to go with 3 blocks and 3 steals, the Spurs defense being the difference after trailing by a few points at the half. Mills hit a 3PTer at the buzzer trimming the lead to just 4 points.

Rudy Gobert had 19 points and 16 rebounds in the loss, but Derrick Favors fouled out with just 13 points. Donovan Mitchell was held to only 12 points, courtesy of Iman Shumpert's defense and Hezonja's feisty effort. Rodney Hood sported 16 points, as did Joe Ingles. Dante Exum had 12 points with 7 assists, and Ricky Rubio had just 14 assists, going scoreless from the field.

The Spurs shot 51% from 3PT land in this game, and the Jazz missed ten free throws (ultimately losing by just 2 points, kicking themselves), as the Spurs only missed 3 of their 25 FT attempts. Turnovers became an issue late for the Spurs, as they had 16 total in the game. Still, the champs took a 2-0 lead to the approval of the crowd at AT&T Center.
