Spurs lose again at home, in double overtime heartbreaker.

The Spurs still lost, despite Kawhi's 43 points.
The Blazers won the first quarter 25-17, a sign of things to come, despite SA's strong effort to move on from its loss to Phoenix at home. Kawhi Leonard gave it his all, as he promised, tying a career-high with 43 points, but his long ball still failed to fall to his liking. Leonard was nearly a one-man show tonight, and at the end of the day, even after two overtime periods, it did in the Spurs.

The kick in the gut came when Kawhi Leonard fouled out of the game, watching his team lose its second straight game at home 133-125, as the Spurs fell from its dogfight with the Golden State Warriors for top place in the Western Conference all the way to 4th after this loss. Rudy Gay had 14 points on 5-14 shooting, Mills had arguably his worst game of the season with 2-12 shooting. Tony Parker failed to make up for it with 3-13 shooting, despite 8 assists, going 2-8 from long range. Pau Gasol's double-double helped the Spurs, but it was not enough. Iman Shumpert shot 4-11 and Jeremy Lamb had just 2 points.

CJ McCollum hit a dagger 3PTer in the second overtime period, finishing with 33 points and 8 assists. Damian Lillard had 19 points and 17 assists (a new career high). Al-Farouq Aminu had 18 points and Evan Turner's double-double was just too much to overcome. It was exciting to see the Spurs fight tenaciously, but heartbreaking as Kawhi missed a shot at the buzzer in the 4th quarter, and again in the first overtime period. The Spurs have a rest day next, hoping it will give them a much needed spark, after falling to 24-9.
